Growing Data for MAS 1220 |
|||
| PHOTOPERIOD SENSITIVE | TILLERING & REGROWTH | ||
The
photoperiod sensitive genes will provide an extended period for the plant
to remain vegetative. As long as the plant receives at least 12 hours
and 20 minutes of sunlight each day, it will continue to produce wide,
long leaves. This can mean a possible 180 day growing season. |
MAS 1220
with its rapid tillering and fast regrowth can easily out yield all conventional
sorghum sudangrass hybrids available today. Due to the extremely long
maturity, it will be up to you when to cut for hay, not up to the crop
to decide. |
||
|
Since
MAS1220 has heterozygous genetics for the brown midrib trait, there will
be a measurable decrease in the non-digestible lignin in the plant. This
quality improvement leads to a more digestible product, which translates
into better feed conversion and increased gains when compared to normal
midrib hybrids |
LONG BROAD LEAVES | ||
| RECOMMENDED PLANTING RATES |
MAS 1220's
long broad leaves make for excellent quality hay or perfect pasture for
grazing. This new generation forage has high protein coupled with a high
nutritional value. You will not lose quality of your crop due to the plant
trying to mature in the middle of the season. |
